School ratings
Ratings are assigned by the Texas Education Agency; the Ledger does not rate schools.
TEA ratings for the six Hockley County school districts have not been retrieved yet. The source is TXschools.gov.
What the overall rating measures
TXschools.gov describes the overall rating this way: "This measures how much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade. It also shows how well a school or district prepares their students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military." TXschools.gov
